Sponsor A Veteran

The Athena Program, a 16 bed transitional housing program provides safe housing for female veterans who are homeless after discharge from the armed forces.  
The Athena House was the first program in the State of Florida designed to address the unique needs of female veterans.  It is a highly structured program which is staffed 24/7 and offers counseling support and treatment exclusively to homeless female veterans.

Each client comes to us with varying needs but the majority comes with very little other than the clothes on their back.  The initial costs when they arrive include providing them with all of the basic necessities which include food, hygiene and personal care products, clothing, bed linens, towels, shoes/slippers, blankets, pajamas, laundry detergent, bus passes, transportation to appointments, notebooks, writing utensils and baskets etc. 

In response to the many questions we receive from the community about how to help support our female veteran clients;   Tampa Crossroads, Inc. has announced our “Sponsor-A-Vet” Program.  This program gives our community the opportunity to honor female veterans who do not have any means of support currently.
By your donation you will help support veterans who have served our country honorably.  You, your business, or your organization may participate in the
Sponsor-A-Vet program. 

We gratefully accept any donations under our Sponsor-A- Vet program which helps the clients receive all of the basic necessities they will need upon entering the Athena House.  The first month is the most costly for us as we have to provide them with all basic necessities. You donations help us offset the financial cost of the first 30 days and provide the community with an opportunity to assist veterans who face the greatest needs.  Through this program the community plays a part in providing the much needed basic necessities for our ATHENA women. The cost per veteran entering Tampa Crossroads for the first month is approximately $350.00. By sponsoring a veteran, you play a significant part in providing them with their needs and contributing to their wellbeing.  100% of your donation will be used to provide these women with basic necessities as soon as they arrive at the program. Your Sponsor-A-Vet donation will be posted in the listing of Sponsor-A-Vet Participants on our website.
